Hooray I am finally done and have a job

Well I finally made the long walk across the stage to get my diploma.  So it is official i r a graduate.  Oh and I have a job working at a car dealership here in Kearney.  We had  a graduation party to celebrate the momentous occasion.  The family came up and we had a cook out.  The keg we got from Thunder head brewery was excellent.  It was a lot of fun to get to hang out with the family and friends before the real world of working full time kicks in.  Every since graduation we have been super busy going here and there every week.  But the good knew is that I have been able to cross off a few more items on my 101 list.  Here is what I have been able to cross off and a few things that I have started completing.  First of all I crossed off the bachelors degree and the graduation party.
We also have successfully Madigan proofed the house.  well to the best that we could.  She is like a little tornado.  Crawling every where and getting into everything.  You turn your back one second and she is across the room digging in something or pulling something off the shelfs.  So all of the moving led to us installing all of these fun gadgets.

The toilet latch can make things pretty dicey if you are having one of those days.  We have learned that we better add a few spare seconds to get the toilet open before we have to go.

I have also started making my list of things that is have never eaten before.  So far both have been from a sushi restaurant imagine that.  First was eel.  It was really good.  I have a thing called a volcano roll that had eel and roe on it.  For those who might not know, roe is fish eggs.  The other thing that I had was a baby octopus.  It was brined but not cooked.  The little tentacles and body were completely whole.  When you bit into it is was kinda crunchy until the hard rubbery coating gave way the the soft mushy inside exploded in your mouth.  I was actually really surprised by the taste.  They were really good if you could get past the whole baby octopus explosion in your mouth.

mm mm i love sushi

And then finally Brandon and I got our tattoos that we have been planning for a while now.  It is a celtic knot meaning brotherhood.  We got them on the back of our calf.  It was one of the weirdest  days ever.  First started with our tats in one of the cleanest and nicest tattoo par
lors that I have ever been in.  Which is a good thing since is was Madigan's first trip to the tattoo parlor. woo hooo wild child! And after the tattoos we decided to grab a bite to eat.  well we were walking by a place that had a sign for $5 burgers so we decide to eat there.  Two seconds after entering we realized we were out of place.  Our party consisted of my brother and his wife and my wife and I along with Madigan.  Turns our Sarah and Ash were 2 of the only females in the joint.  And when we sat down that was a giant 10 ft. by 12 ft. painting of 2 lesbians.  But hey everyone was extremely nice and the burgers were excellent.  The waiter said that they are trying to get more people in of the slow days by offering meal specials.  The favorite on  of coarse that he pointed out to us was the $2 hot dogs on Sunday's.  We all had a little chuckle at that even the waiter.  So if you are ever in KC in west port on a monday at 4:00 go down to 303 and have the $5 burgers they are great.

Well this is all for know and I hope you like the pictures that posted into my blog.  The wife finally showed me how to do it so I hope that I did not screw it up to bad and make it hard to read.  Of coarse people would have to read it to really matter or not if I screwed it up.  Please leave me a comment if I need to do something else with my pictures.  Thanks

Dear blog hacker

So i see that you think you are so smart to hack into my blog and post a picture on there.  At least you posted a pic of a really cute kid. The parents must be a couple of good looking people.  I am guessing the mom is nurse and the dad well he is just a dad.  The dad is probably not up to date on all of the face book and blog scene as his wife is.  But she is slowly turning him to the dark side. You know if his wife was real nice she would show him how to post pictures on the blog so he could make his a little more interesting. So until next time blog hacker if you feel like some one is watching you it is because there is.

So, I wonder if I were to hack into my husband's blog and post a picture, how long do you suppose it'd take him to figure it out?
The clock starts.....NOW!

long time no post

Well I am finally posting again after a couple of months have past. It is the first week of May which means 2 great things.  First the gatherin was last weekend.  It was a great time.  The Feckin Penguins ruled the battle field again, so I have another rock to add to the collection.  That makes three in a row.  This year was a little different since we had to come up with 2 team members once we were at the gatherin.  But we lucked out and found a couple of guys ( one was a manimal).  While at the gatherin I completed one of my challenges.  I did not partake in the mayhem that is the running of the firery cross.  I was content to watch this year for the sake of my eyebrows.  Although I still had the urge to tackle somebody but then again I don't think that will ever go away.  It was not near as brutal this year.  No one was injured or had serious burns so it was kinda disappointing.
The next good thing about it being the first week of May is that this is finals week.  Finally my last finals week.  Graduation is on Friday!!  You know a lot of people go to school for 8 years, but they are doctors. Ok so it hasn't been 8 only 6 but still it is finally over.  I do have a job lined up to start on the 11 of May.  It is a job a Midway Chevrolet as a car sales man.  So if anybody needs a new car I would be more than happy to help.
We have been so busy these last couple of months and it looks as though the chaos will continue.  We have been going some place every week end.  One of those was to KC for Mandy's party.  So I got to hang out and see Brandon and Ashley while Sarah went to the party.  While in KC we ate at Grinders which was a place featured on Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives.  Brandon and I split a the signature chili bomb pizza.  It was a bacon and cheese pizza with a mound of tater tots and chili in the middle of it.  Wow it was good but I could feel my arteries closing up as I ate it.  I would definitely recommend Grinders to anybody going to KC.  Sarah and Ash had sandwiches that were really good as well.  It was a neat place to eat and the food was great.
Now that school is ending I should have some more time to blog on here and hopefully not get so far behind on my posts.  Sarah is going to show me how to post pictures on my blog of the things that I have completed.  Hopefully that will make it a lot more exciting for those of  you that are so excited to see what is going on in my life. ( Yeah like I am really that important for anyone to really care what I am doing).  So until next time lang may yer lum reek!

March is out like a lion

Well march is about over but the cold weather is still hanging around.  It will be nice for a few days then back to the cold and blowy wind but that is Nebraska for you.  Not much has change since last time I posted.  I am now counting down that last weeks before graduation and man am I excited.  I am officially on the job hunt.  So if anyone knows of a good job for a person that has a business management comprehensive degree with an emphasis in finance let me know.  This economy coupled with the troubles the finance sector is having it is making people a little nervous about hiring new people but hey I am keeping an open mind and still trying to get my name out there.
We had a pretty uneventful St. Patty's day.  We went over to the Sutton's house for some corn beef and cabbage. MMM it was so good and oh yeah plenty of Guinness was also involved (at least for me and Paul).  And speaking of the Sutton's they now have a new addition to their family.  Brandi Elizabeth Sutton was born on the March 21st.  So congrats to them, now Sarah and I have another set of couple friends that have a baby.  More play dates.  Ok so that last sentence totally puts me into the realm of fatherhood.
Speaking of fatherhood Madigan is now almost NINE MONTHS!! She is getting so big.  They say to cherish the days when they are small because they grow up so fast.  Now I know what they mean.  It seems like just the other day when we where bringing her home from the hospital. Now she is moving around and pulling herself up on things.  I am going to have to lower her bed in her crib so she can not reach the rail and pull herself up and over. Nobody wants baby to go boom boom that makes baby mad and then she screams which is not good for anybody.
Sarah is now going gangbusters starting up her new business.  Yes that is right Sarah the CEO of her own business.  She has decided to take her photography to the next level.  The business is called Free Range Photography.  She came up with this idea to go and take pictures of kids and families at their house or at a place where they would want to take them.  She is free range so to speak, not tied down to a studio.  She has taken a few peoples pictures already and they turned out great.  I hope that it all goes good for her.  It would be great if I find a good job that Sarah could go part time in the cath lab and focus more on her pictures.
Other than life being life and moving as usual not much has changed.  I cant wait for spring and summer. I just love warm weather.  But until then I just have to keep taking advantage of the warm days that we do get.  The gather'n is coming up soon and that is always a fun time.  Hopefully everyone has a good day and that is all I have for now.

Feb Brew airy

Well it is now February and I have successfully completed a few more items on my list.  I completed numbers 89 and 98 this week.  than means I made it through the week without playing my xbox.  It was touch and go for the first couple of days but after I made it past the shakes and withdrawls it was a breeze.  Ha Ha no I did not really go through withdrawls but it did make it a lot easier to complete the task of going to bed before midnight for a week.  All and all it worked out pretty good because I had some homework to get done so that took most of my free time.
While going over my list I discovered number 23 that I had completed and forgot to mention.  I entered a chili contest that a church was having.  I entered my caution flag chili for the contest and I must say I got a pretty good do on it.  All though for some reason I did not win (I think it was a conspiracy with the church ladies) I did win a sprinkler for having the best spicy chili.  By the way what is with churches and chili.  I guess they just go hand and hand both are good to warm the heart and soul.
Madigan is now putting down a size 2 thing of food like it is nothing.  You should check out Sarah's blog at thesillyhilles.blogspot to see all the pictures of her.  She is getting so big and sassy. She was sitting in her high chair as i was carrying her food over to her when she looked right at me and let out her high pitch war cry.  She even leaned forward in her seat at me.  It was like she was saying move your butt I am starving over here.  Only 7 months and already an attitude, can't wait until she is 15 ha ha.  She had her dr. appointment and he said no meat until 8 months so we still have a little time until I have to feed her the ham or chicken or beef or what ever it is.  We should be getting her 6/7 month pictures back this week finally.  Sarah is getting a little upset so I hope for our photographers sake he gets them done.  Well that is all that is happing in my little world so have a good feb brew airy and have and if anybody tries a new brew let me know about it.

January is almost in the books

well january is almost over.  Hard to believe that we are already one month down.  We celebrated Burns night on friday.  It was a very fun night ( except for the few nerves before giving the toast to the lassies).  I got to try 2 new scotches that I have never had before.  McCullum and Oban and I would recommend them to any single malt lover.  Sarah did great with her speech to the lads.  We all looked great in our plaid.  Sarah made Madigan a cute little skirt out of the left over scrap she used to make my kilt and her skirt.  This week I am working on completing 2 more of my 101 list items.  They are to be in bed before midnight and not play the xbox for a week.  It has only been one day but it is going fine so far.  I am also going to start helping out with a little kids wrestling team.  It is in Axtell which is a small town just south of Kearney.  I am excited to get back into wrestling.  I hope that it will be a lot of fun and hopefully there will not be to many criers.
Madigan is getting so big.  She has a doc appointment on friday for her 6-7 month check up.  We are going to ask about when we can start meat.  By the way if you haven't seen the meat in the baby food jars I suggest you don't look.  Better yet make a game of it and try and guess which meat it is.  They all look the same, the beef is the same color as the turkey, ham, chicken.  I have tasted all of the other foods we have given her so far and they all taste similar to what is says but i am nervous about trying the meat.  If you are ever so lucky to see the meat in the jar you should look around and find the little sausages in the jar of fluid.  I call it fluid because I am not sure what it really is.  Those things make me throw up in my mouth every time I see them but I still have to look every time.  Who would bother feeding their kids those.  Why not just cook them a hot dog it looks like it would be healthier.  Anyways Madigan got a jumperoo and loves it.  She goes crazy in it jumping all over the place.  Once she figures out she can move around Sarah and I are going to be in for a lot of trouble.  I get the feeling she will be all over the place and getting into everything.
I will have to post again at the end of the week when i finish my 2 items and have some more to say. So until then have a good week and don't waste all of your time reading my blog.

A New Year

So it is the start to a new year.  I hope everyone had a good holidays.  Madigan is eating baby food now.  So far she has eaten the green beans and sweat peas.  The oatmeal cereal still seems to be her favorite.  Madigan seems to be enjoying the new foods.  Of course since it is a new year Sarah and I are starting a diet again to shed some of those unwanted and hey maybe it will help me achieve one of my items on my list.  To help with our diet and exercise plan we purchased a wii fit.  Getting our hands on one was an adventure in itself.  We had to call the stores around Kearney everyday to see if they had gotten any in on the trucks that day.  I am pretty sure that the employees of the electronics departments got tired of us hanging around and asking everyday.  Hey but the upside was that I now know the days that the new inventory will be in for future items that we might want.  I will let you know if the wii fit helps us with our diet.  If nothing else it is a lot of fun to play.  It is my turn up on the wii fit so until next week happy blogging.
